PEREZ JAIMES, Alejandra Karina et al. Association of the healthy eating index with learning styles in adults aged 20 to 40. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.2, pp. 503-508. Epub 02-Abr-2022. ISSN 2218-3620.
The selection of foods and the learning that is offered of diverse nutritional orientations, provided by interventions of the Health Sector or nutritional consultation, sometimes does not have the impact for the benefit of the patient; In this article, a variable that is not very representative for health personnel and specifically nutritionists at the time of granting a nutritional consultation or in a community intervention, the "learning style", will be studied. The objective of the article is to associate the healthy eating index with learning styles in adults aged 20 to 40 years. The type of study was analytical, observational, prospective and cross-sectional. The study population consisted of 185 participants with an age range of 20 to 40 years. A type of non-probabilistic convenience sampling was used; the technique was quantitative, represented with measures of central tendency (mean) and dispersion (minimum, maximum ranges and standard deviations-SD), with respect to the qualitative variables, the results were generated with frequencies and percentages. The relationship between learning styles and the healthy eating index was obtained from the chi square statistical test. All data were analyzed using the statistical package SPSS version 25, taking a p value less than 0.05 as significant. In the present investigation, very few participants managed to have a sufficient score to be classified as having a healthy diet, making this one of the main causes in our country for the development of chronic non-communicable diseases.
