In the work it is considered that postgraduate training should be aimed at solving the problems that the competitiveness and development of a company faces and that with these results contribute to the triumph of the promoted model. For this reason, the genesis of the scientific research required by doctoral training must be the demands of productive business practice, which explains the need and possibility in the industry of researching from within and for its benefit. Starting from own experiences, a work methodology is based that includes the training of doctors within the business staff with managerial and technical functions of importance and the role of mathematical methods to achieve scientific results and project results in the shortest time is highlighted. In the methodology used, it is sought that through the scientific degree thesis at the same time as consolidating their scientific and technological training, supported by mathematical methods, doctoral students take the challenge of carrying out a research work in which they use the knowledge acquired during their training solving a real problem in their industry. In addition, they refer to the current works and experiences in the intensification of facilities of the global process of the rum industry and the optimization of the rum production stages, the strategies of technological improvements and the proposal of the reduction of risks in the Cabaiguan Refinery. Finally, conclusions and recommendations for the work are drawn up.
