RODRIGUEZ MORALES, Alina; PAREDES HASING, Xavier Antonio; VERA PENA, Victor Manuel y MILANES GOMEZ, Roberto. Teacher professionalization, a diagnostic approach at the University of Guayaquil. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.5, pp.472-477. Epub 30-Oct-2022. ISSN 2218-3620.
The process of teacher professionalization in universities implies taking into account functions that the university professor must fulfill, failure to understand them can cause a halt in the progress of an educational institution. In this sense, professionalization is presented as a form of work that must carry out the institution and carrying them out implies revolutionizing in each semester the substantive processes of the University of Guayaquil. This article is part of the results of the Teacher Professionalization project that is carried out from the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Educational Sciences of the University of Guayaquil in coordination with the Faculties of Dentistry, Chemical Sciences and Social Communication. Its objective is to perform a diagnostic approach to the competitive reality of the University's teachers. The applied survey was carried out via email from the computer center of the University to all the teachers of the campus and from a quantitative analysis carried out. Partial conclusions of the investigation were reached. However, the ideas that emanate from the process and that are interesting to socialize with the university scientific community in order to reflect together on a topic that interests everyone are exposed in this work. The University of today is aware of the role it socially plays, it is up to teachers to be protagonists of their time and as such today, professionalization is not an option, it is a challenge, based primarily on research and quality teaching that train the student.
