Abstract

TUBAY ZAMBRANO, Fanny  and  QUICHIMBO SAQUICHAGUA, Fabricio. Proprietary methodologies for the knowledge and revitalization of medicinal knowledge in the UNASAY-e organization. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2023, vol.15, n.6, pp. 596-606.  Epub Dec 10, 2023. ISSN 2218-3620.

The approach to the territory with tools that enable and promote dialogue and trust in the Social Sciences, requires methodological proposals that respond to the needs of contexts and actors, and break with the imposition of mechanisms distant from substantivity and collaborative interests. Hence, the research shows the design of an instrument to collect data associated with ancestral knowledge, which with the co-participation of researchers and interlocutors, evolves and acquires the solidity of the participatory action research method. Four versions of the instrument are analyzed (scripts of semi-structured interviews and focus groups) that reach the territory after the analysis and negotiation of priority issues. The final result of the tools combines common questions, new additions, and topics that represent emerging demands associated with intercultural health, and that in the later phase of the project serve as axes for a training program in the same community.

Keywords : Participatory methodologies; Ancestral knowledge, Intercultural health; Investigation action; Ethnography.
