Abstract

This research aims to analyze urban mobility in the Metropolitan Area of ​​Tulancingo Hidalgo, Mexico. Using statistical techniques such as analysis of variance (ANOVA) and the Kruskal-Wallis test, the modal choice in commuting to work and educational centers is investigated from a survey of 137 Urban Basic Geostatistical Areas (AGEB). The results show that the AGEB with populations between 800 and more than 2400 inhabitants before and after the Covid-19 pandemic used public transport and walking as one of their main means of mobility to work and educational centers, while that the population aged 65 and over in AGEB with a density of less than 799 inhabitants use walking as the main transportation.
