Abstract

ESCOBAR GONZALES, Eugenio Javier et al. Impact of the crime of hired assassination in Ecuador, principle of the inviolability of human life. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2023, vol.15, n.6, pp. 764-776.  Epub Dec 20, 2023. ISSN 2218-3620.

In Ecuador, hitmen participate in acts of violence characterized by detached and armed behavior, regardless of their physical, moral, economic condition, age, gender, sex or race. The main objective of the research is to determine the degree of understanding of the general population about criminal behavior related to the crime of murder, which is based on the fundamental principle of the inviolability of human life. The results of the examination of the existing literature indicate an increase in the prevalence of this form of criminal activity in the Ecuadorian context. Knowledge among legal professionals and judicial officials is similar, and a deficiency is highlighted with students on this topic. The ramifications of this criminal act require a thorough analysis of the underlying factors that contribute to the erosion of social values.
