HEREDIA GARCIA, María Isabel and JARAMILLO ZAMBRANO, Ana Elizabeth. Attachment style and emotional regulation in adolescents from the city of Milagro. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2024, vol.16, n.3, pp. 22-32. Epub June 30, 2024. ISSN 2218-3620.
Attachment is a way of building and creating emotional bonds with other people, which is why the period of adolescence is one of the most important for the person as important changes occur in all areas of life. That is why the research aims to analyze whether there is a correlation between attachment styles and emotion regulation strategies in adolescence. For this, a study with a quantitative approach is developed with 205 adolescents between 12 and 17 years old, men and women from the city of Milagro to whom the CaMir-R Attachment Questionnaire and the Emotional Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) were applied. The results demonstrated the existence of a positive relationship between attachment styles and emotional regulation strategies, concluding that the predominant types of attachment in both men and women are secure attachment and worried attachment.
