Abstract
HONGWEI, Liu. Latin America and the Caribbean: Perspectives on Professional Learning and Cooperation with China. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2025, vol.17, n.1 Epub Feb 27, 2025. ISSN 2218-3620.
Latin America and the Caribbean share cultural interests that have facilitated growing unity and cooperation in the field of professional learning. Despite historical and economic differences, there is a trend towards collaboration in knowledge and technology transfer. According to UNESCO data (2020), the literacy rate in the region is 94%, but significant disparities exist between countries, reflecting challenges in education and vocational training. Innovation and technology transfer are crucial for regional development, but a ECLAC study (2021) highlights that only 3% of companies have high innovation intensity. This article critically analyzes recent literature and studies to explore how science, technology, and innovation can be catalysts for improving professional training. It emphasizes the importance of collaborative approaches in developing inclusive and effective educational policies, encouraging the intensification of knowledge transfer as a means to promote more equitable professional learning adapted to regional needs.
