Cyberbullying is a phenomenon that has gained notoriety in the digital age, becoming a serious problem that affects the lives of many people, especially young people and adolescents. It is important for the Ecuadorian government to recognize the importance of protecting children and young people, as they are the most vulnerable population. The objective of this research is to legally analyze the existence of legal gaps regarding cyberbullying in the Ecuadorian legal system. The research had a qualitative modality, with a descriptive scope. 20 legal professionals were surveyed to find out their perceptions of cyberbullying and protection measures for victims. It is noted that updating Ecuadorian legislation to incorporate specific provisions that address cyberbullying effectively is necessary. Cyberbullying can be seen as a reflection of broader social dynamics, such as the search for identity, peer pressure, and the need for belonging. Understanding these motivations can help to address the problem more holistically, with the proposal of actions aimed at that end.
