GUTIERREZ BAEZ, Yipsy et al. Sudden Cardiac Death: a Necessary Explanation. Rev. Finlay [online]. 2015, vol.5, n.3, pp.198-203. ISSN 2221-2434.
Since the second half of the twentieth century, dying suddenly due to heart-related problems has become the main health issue in all countries where infectious diseases are not prevalent. Sudden death from cardiac causes is an important global health problem. Major databases were searched for the leading causes of sudden cardiac death. It has been demonstrated that there is a group of hereditary diseases with structural alterations or without apparent organic cause that explains many cases of sudden death in young people, whether related or not to physical exertion. Certain population groups are at higher risk for this disease. They are relatively easy to identify and can be the target of primary prevention measures.
