GONZALEZ RODRIGUEZ, Raidel et al. Clinical Epidemiological Characterization of Hypertension in the Elderly. Rev. Finlay [online]. 2017, vol.7, n.2, pp.74-80. ISSN 2221-2434.

The variables used were: age, sex, risk factors, associated chronic noncommunicable diseases and type of treatment. The statistical processing of the data was performed using absolute frequencies and percentages, respecting medical ethics. Results: the female gender was the predominant with 59.6 % and the group of 65 and older with 71.5 %. There was a prevalence of smoking as a risk factor, as well as chronic disease, ischemic heart disease with 48.8 % and 20.9 %, respectively.
