The Cuban theory of Advanced Education, during its 40 years of creation, has stood out for the identification of new resources, procedures and tools for the inquiry and evaluation of the processes that occur in the educational context. Most of its results are widely used in the branches of educational sciences; however, when their essence is analyzed, it is possible to extend their applicability to the rest of the sciences. The performance test, for example, as a result of the intellectual production of Advanced Education, can be adapted to the biological sciences. For this purpose, the present work aims to describe the applicability of the professional performance test for the development of a pharmaceutical product. The type of research is descriptive, from the theoretical level the documentary analysis and systematization methods were used, which allowed, respectively, the description of the essence and characteristics of the performance test and the obtaining of the dimensions and indicators that integrate it for this research. From the empirical point of view, the proposed performance test was submitted to the consultation of specialists and, by means of descriptive statistics (mode) and inferential statistics, the opinion of the specialists was processed. The main result provided by the article consists of a validated instrument, which can be applied and adapted to other sciences, allowing decision making regarding the selection, the role to be played according to experience and, when required, the training of the personnel integrating the development team of a liquid or lyophilized injectable product.
