Resumen

MARINO-CASTELLANOS, P; PUPO-PALMA, C; VEGA-GARCIA, A  y  GUERRA-DAVILA, Y. Correlation between the microstructure of M-type barium ferrites doped with Al3+ and Co3+ and their structural and magnetic properties. Rev Cub Quim [online]. 2016, vol.28, n.1, pp.325-349. ISSN 2224-5421.

M-type Barium hexaferrites, whose chemical formula is BaFe12O19, are one of the magnetic compounds of more use in the world due to the facilities in its obtaining and to its physical properties, such as high resistivity, great coercitivity, relative low magnetic saturation and high retentivity. Their crystalline structure is similar to that of the mineral magnetoplumbita. In this work samples of M-type barium hexaferrites were obtained by the traditional ceramic method, according to the stoichiometric chemical formula BaFe12-2xAlx3+Cox3+O19, with x = 0,0; 0,1; 0,2; 0,3; 0,5; 0,6; 0,7; 0,8; 1,0; 1,3. It is showed up the results of a study, where the correlation is exposed between the microstructure of the system and its structural and magnetic properties. Also, it is compared with the results of the obtained predictions from the application to this system of a phenomenological model of site occupancy.

Palabras clave : M-type hexaferrites; model of site occupancy; saturation magnetization.
