Abstract

VILASO-CADRE, Javier E.; CROMBET-GRILLET, Sandra  and  PEREZ-POMPA, Norma. Some chemical-physical parameters of the waters of the "Lago Azul" of the town "El Cobre". Rev Cub Quim [online]. 2017, vol.29, n.3, pp.456-465. ISSN 2224-5421.

In this work, a study of some chemical-physical parameters of the waters of the "Lago Azul" in the ancient mine of the town "El Cobre" of Santiago de Cuba was made. Three sampling points were fixed and the parameters: pH, conductivity, concentrations of chloride, sulfate, solids, dissolved oxygen and copper were determined. Determinations were done at the levels: superficial and 1 meter in-depth. The results showed acid waters, with a high mineralization, high concentrations of sulfate, chloride, dissolved oxygen and copper. These waters can be classified like mineral sulfated. They cannot be used for bath and could have application like mineral medicinal waters.

Keywords : mine; mineral water; copper.
