Resumen
SILVEIRA-FONT, Yadira et al. Variation of the composition of pigments of Chlorella vulgaris Beijerinck, with the application of the static magnetic field. Rev Cub Quim [online]. 2018, vol.30, n.1, pp.55-67. ISSN 2224-5421.
Chlorella vulgaris is one of the most studied microalgae species due to its easy growth and multiple applications. This work evaluates the effect of the dose and the moment of application of a static magnetic field (SMF) of 47,23 mT applied during one hour in repeated doses in early and late exponential phase, on the growth kinetics and the chlorophyll relation: carotenes in cultures of C. vulgaris at laboratory scale. The maximum values of cellular concentration were obtained in cultures exposed to SMF during the early exponential phase, in repeated doses for three days (10 800±123x104 cell. mL-1), values significantly superior to the control (4 122±112x104 cell. mL-1) and those exposed to a similar dose in late exponential phase (9 576±207,5x104 cell. mL-1). The cultures exposed to the SMF also presented higher concentrations of chlorophyll and carotene, which evidences a stimulation of the synthesis of pigments as a response to stress.
