ALFONSO-ACOSTA, Yoel; PEREZ-ROJAS, Arley e YLL-LAVIN, Mario. Design of biorreactor for the production of inoculum of Salmonella enteritidis. Rev Cub Quim [online]. 2019, vol.31, n.1, pp. 120-136. ISSN 2224-5421.
The purpose of this study was to design a batch bioreactor with a volume of 150 L for the production of Salmonella enteritidis, danysz variety. The design was based on a kinetic model for obtaining biomass and substrate consumption. This model was adjusted using experimental data from a 50 L bioreactor. The mechanical design was based on the principle of geometric similarity between the model and the prototype. The power criterion consumed per unit volume was used, criterion that marks the regime of change. The fermentation time was of 3,35 hours, while the power consumed was 11 W. The heats involved in the fermentation process were: sensible heat, heat dissipated by agitation, heat exchanged by the jacket and the heat generated by the microorganism with values of 2 640 kcal / h, 9,47 kcal / h, 24 768 kcal / h and 27 398 kcal / h respectively.
