In this work, a study of the spring “El Paraíso”, located in the El Cristo town, Santiago de Cuba was carried out to evaluate its use by human consumption, as source of supply and irrigation activities for crops. Five samplings were carried out in the dry period of october 2019-february 2020 and subsequent analysis of the physicochemical and bacteriological results in conjunction with the interpretation of integrating indices. The results reflected the contamination of the spring since many parameters such as hydrogencarbonate, nitrate, total and termotolerant coliforms, are outside the established indices. Due to this, the spring waters are not apt like water drinkable, neither for provisioning, which is why necessary treatment according to the contamination degree, although recommended for animal consumption and watering of cultivations.
