Resumen

ALMENARES-VERDECIA, Juan Francisco; NGOMA-PRESLINE, Frande  y  SERRAT-DIAZ, Manuel de Jesús. TECHNOLOGICAL ASPECTS GENERAL FOR CONVERSION TO ETHANOL FROM BIOMASS LIGNOCELLULOSIC II. RTQ [online]. 2011, vol.31, n.3, pp.392-407. ISSN 2224-6185.

For their high content of fermentable sugars and their extraordinary readiness, among other many reasons, is the biomass lignocelulósica the matter excellence cousin for the production of ethanol fuel, which is considered as a cleaner alternative to the fossil fuels. In this work are treated some of the challenges that faces the production of this renewable fuel, derived of the employment of this substrate that include their pretratamiento for explosion of vapor (EV) and the enzymatic hydrolysis (EH), as well as the compound inhibitors of the fermentation that are generated as consequence of these processes. In this context, the productive capacities of the microbial species are fundamental in the yield and efficiency of the fermentative process. The increment in the consumption of glucose and xylose, the tolerance to the temperature and the compound inhibitors is characters that can be developed or powered by means of the application of different strategies of evolutionary engineering, being this a important contribution in the improvement of the technology of the lignocellulosic ethanol.

Palabras clave : lignocellulosic ethanol; tolerance to inhibitors; thermo tolerance; evolutionary engineering.
