La asignatura Microbiología se imparte en el tercer año de la carrera Ingeniería Química, su papel en el Plan de estudios se justifica por la existencia de múltiples procesos industriales en los que se emplean microorganismos. La asignatura no tiene examen final, por lo que cuenta con varias formas de evaluación parcial del proceso, dentro de las cuales se encuentra el seminario integrador. El objetivo de este trabajo es mostrar una nueva forma de impartir el seminario integrador de Microbiología, evidenciando la vinculación que existe entre la asignatura y la carrera Ingeniería Química. Esta nueva forma consiste en analizar el contenido de un artículo académico que vincule la asignatura con la carrera. Se presenta la guía del seminario, con todos los aspectos que deben desarrollar los estudiantes. Se muestra un ejemplo de análisis de un artículo científico y se presentan las ventajas de impartir el seminario integrador de esta nueva forma, con respecto a la forma clásica. Se concluye que esta es una alternativa factible, que puede ser extendida a otras asignaturas de la carrera.

The subject Microbiology is taught in the third year of the Chemical engineering degree, its role in the curriculum is justified by the existence of multiple industrial processes in which microorganisms are used. The subject does not have a final exam, so it has several forms of partial evaluation of the process, among which is the integrative seminar. The objective of this paper is to show a new way of delivering the integrative seminar of Microbiology, demonstrating the link that exists between the subject and the Chemical engineering career. This new form consists of analyzing the content of an academic article that links the subject with the career. The seminar guide is presented, with all the aspects that students must develop. An example of analysis of a scientific article is shown, and the advantages of imparting the integrative seminar of this new form are presented, with respect to the classical form. It is concluded that this is a feasible alternative, which can be extended to other subjects of the career.
