ABSTRACT

The present work has as objective designs a discontinuous jacket reactor with mechanical agitation for the treatment of used coming vegetable oil of the process of fry. The designs was carried out for a volume of 1 L, the material employee for your construction went stainless steel and the dimensions went: height 13, cm, internal diameter 11 cm. The agitating employee went of two small shovels with a diameter 8,7 cm. the consumption of power of the agitator went of 73 W. Carry out the calculates by means of the methodology employed in the tanks faith design of background tweed drawing. As your liquid heater man uses the water, by circulating for an annular space of 4 cm. The carried out the experimental runs that permitted verify the occurrence of the transesterification reaction. The better’s conditions of operation prove to be 42ºC of temperature, speed of agitation of 375 min-1 and time of reaction 20 min. The performance of conversion of the residual oil to biocombustible for all cases was superior to 75%.
