The basic principle of analogue television focuses on distributing the broadcast content to final users, so it is considered a passive medium. At present, digital television goes beyond television content, it provides interactive multimedia services, which implies that viewers must have the ability to interact with the transmission and requires the use of hardware devices and software, designed specifically for these purposes. Each of the digital television standards have defined their own standards for the creation and broadcast of interactive content Cuba has adopted digital television using the DTMB standard, but has not defined a standard for interactive content. This paper presents a review of the interactivity standards used by the most used digital television standards in the world. It presents the current state of interactivity in digital television in Cuba, as well as some studies that have been developed in order to enhance it. It is proposed to carry out a more detailed study on each of the standards so that the country can define what standard to adopt for interactive contents for digital television in Cuba.
