UTRERA SUST, Eric Bárbaro; SIMON CUEVAS, Alfredo  e  OLIVAS, José A. Analysis of trends in the customization of results in web search engines.. Rev cuba cienc informat [online]. 2018, vol.12, n.2, pp.126-146. ISSN 2227-1899.

Web search engines help users find specific information within the large amount of information resources available on the Web. A feature of web search engines is that for the same query made by two different users, they show the same results, so the need to customize search results has become increasingly necessary. This article presents a review of Personalization Models for Web Search Engines (PMWS), with a focus on personalized search. The research provides a vision of the stages involved in the construction and evaluation of the MPWB, such as: modeling of users’ characteristics and the relationships among them, compilation of the information about the users of the system, representation of the information, multi- language performance, reliability of data, creation of profiles and use of agents. Based on the analysis carried out, this paper concludes by highlighting the challenges and future directions of research in the field of PMWS.
