The purpose of this research is to analyze the importance of effectively addressing ethical issues in software development project management. Qualitative research paradigm is used, based on documentary review, with random sampling based on the selection of primary sources with high scientific recognition. Findings: In software development project management, it is essential to consider ethics as an integral part of the project's existence. This means that ethics should be conceived from the beginning of the project and included as a management indicator. The originality and value of this research lie in the fact that few studies address the correlation between ethics and project management. This research expands the existing literature by highlighting the need to consider ethics in software project management. Additionally, it provides practical ideas for organizations, aimed at minimizing the risks derived from ethical violations. In conclusion, it is essential to effectively address ethical issues in software development project management. Ethics should be conceived from the beginning of the project and considered as a management indicator. This provides arguments for decision-making and helps minimize risks and improve team performance.
