Introduction:

In the background of the subject there is extensive bibliography on the history of integrationist processes, but there is not much analysis from political philosophy.

Objective:

To determine from the political philosophy and the history of ideas the degree of elaboration of Latin American thought-fundamentally from the Enlightenment to the present -on the integrationist culture in some of its main intellectual and political representatives when analyzing the possibilities and obstacles of the processes of solidarity and union of the peoples of this region in their struggles for dignity.

Methods:

Documentary and based on consultation, review and critical analysis of bibliographic material (proclamations, letters, minutes, manifestos, etc.) from a set of qualitative variables that allow us to reach partial and general conclusions.

Results:

It was defined that the integrationist culture consists of all those ideas and actions conducive to a greater degree of dignity of peoples through their union, in order to facilitate the reciprocal exchange of products, and material and spiritual processes. Anything that undermines that objective must be seen as alienating and hindering integration. The contributions of the main intellectuals and heroes regarding the idea of promoting certain common integrationist and emancipatory cultural matrices are needed, which make synergies with the social, political and economic processes that remain challenges from the beginning of Independence to the present.

Conclusions:

The most authentic Latin American intellectuals and social leaders - mainly from the Enlightenment to the present - have enriched the integrationist culture by analyzing the possibilities and obstacles of the processes of solidarity and union of the peoples of this region in their struggles for dignity.
