Epub 01-Ene-2025. ISSN 2306-2495.
The research focused on the implementation of an innovative teaching strategy based on active methodologies, aimed at improving the development of critical thinking in students of the Education Degree of the Faculty of Social, Humanistic and Educational Sciences of the State University of the South of Manabí. Through an intervention with a sample of 42 students, the aim was to promote active participation and collaborative learning by using approaches that stimulate reflection and informed decision-making. Statistical tools were used to evaluate the effectiveness of the strategy, including an analysis of Cronbach's Alpha coefficient and the paired samples t-test. The results showed significant improvements in students' critical thinking skills after the implementation of the strategy, suggesting a positive impact on their learning. In addition, the strategy was validated by a panel of experts, who supported its relevance and effectiveness in relation to current educational objectives. The findings indicate that the incorporation of active methodologies not only enhances the development of critical competencies, but also improves the educational climate. The research highlights the importance of training teachers and establishing sustainability plans to ensure the continuity of these practices over time.
