The aim of this project is to increase efficiency at the meat-packing plant of the Agroindustrial Engineering School, Sate University of Bolivar, Ecuador, based on validated optimization techniques. Economic-mathematical methods were used in the study, particularly, goal programming. The State University of Bolivar, in concert with the Plan Nacional del Buen Vivir, 2013-2017, (National Plan for Better Living) has put all its potential to create agroindustrial plants for meat, fruit, and greens processing. However, the potential of these industries is unknown, and the production programs are not supported by modern planning and control techniques, an issue this paper intends to address. This research is a contribution to the far-reaching desire to change Ecuador's productivity matrix, whose economy has long been an international raw material supplier, whereas it continues to import goods and services with higher added value. Validation performed to the company's 2016 planning, and its approval, may lead to higher company profits, up to 7 %.
