Aim:
to analyze the experience of a High-Tech Company in business planning considering the National Center of Biological Products as an example.
Methods and techniques:
a quasi-experimental study (2018-2022) was carried out, based on a qualitative, quantitative, descriptive level approach, using direct observation, surveys, and brainstorming to obtain the SWOT matrix, involving specialists from different areas, temporary working groups and technical committees.
Main results:
based on the particularities of a high-tech company, it was possible to establish policies, strategies, and institutional objectives, thematic, annual and monthly plans for activities, implementing feedback to assess compliance and draw up continuous improvement strategies. The results of business planning were validated during the successful confrontation with the COVID-19 pandemic in Cuba.
Conclusions:
the identification of deficiencies in business planning to achieve greater flexibility and guide it towards innovation, constitute a starting point to project strategic actions and their implementation to consolidate this activity, with the aim of keeping the company always adapted to the changing environment to achieve the development and growth objectives planned in a high-tech company. The evaluation of the effectiveness of the business planning process allowed validating the adequacy of the strategy as an element of continuous improvement, reinforcing the adjustments in the process and relevance of its stages, achieving greater coordination between the functions for the fulfillment of the work objectives in challenging situations such as facing the COVID-19 epidemic.
