Abstract

GARCIA DELGADO, Beatriz Moraima; DI FABIO ROGLIA, José Luis  and  VIDAL CASANOVA, Jaume. Patent information: impact on access to medical products. Rev. cuba. inf. cienc. salud [online]. 2015, vol.26, n.1, pp.3-19. ISSN 2307-2113.

The high price of patented drugs has a negative impact on their accessibility, thus affecting health care. Generic drugs are an alternative to such a situation. The study is aimed at identifying patent search methodologies and their incorporation into knowledge generation methodologies with the purpose of responding to the needs of users. Attention is paid to information contained in patent documents, particularly information on preclinical, clinical and pharmacokinetic studies, among others, described in examples of patent creation, enabling experts in the subject to apply such knowledge to the development of generic drugs.

Keywords : drugs; documents; patents; search; methodologies.
