Resumen

ROCHA RIBEIRO, Karla Cristina et al. Information as a source of anxiety in organizations. Rev. cuba. inf. cienc. salud [online]. 2019, vol.30, n.4, e1458.  Epub 31-Dic-2019. ISSN 2307-2113.

This paper aims to reflect on the impact of information and its possible problems that affect the health of subjects in the context of organizations. Looking at the current scenario of organizations, we analyze that information may modify the behavior of subjects in different ways. Thus, while we should consider information as a resource for organizations, we should also understand its impact on workers' health. The use of information creates numerous triggers in organizations; however, we highlight a behavior developed by workers that needs to be analyzed: information anxiety. Given this scenario, it is essential that organizations use structured processes to minimize this type of behavior, thus enabling the full use of information as a resource. Therefore, the strategic use of the people management process becomes important, since this process already works directly with employees. This is the reason why the research method used was bibliographic survey on the topics information as an anxiety triggering resource and people management as a process. Upon completion of the bibliographic survey, a preliminary analysis was conducted of information as an organizational resource and people management as a process capable of minimizing the negative impact of information on workers' health. As a result, initial guidelines are presented for activities related to the people management process which may minimize the impact of information anxiety in the context of organizations.

Palabras clave : information anxiety; occupational health; organizations; people management.
