Abstract

MUNOZ CAMPOS, Marta Rosa; DEL PINO MAS, Tania  and  PEDROSO AGUIAR, Willy. Analysis of Communication Processes in Water Resources Management Models in the Municipality of Guira de Melena, Cuba.: Proposal for Participatory Strategy. Estudios del Desarrollo Social [online]. 2016, vol.4, n.3, pp.41-51. ISSN 2308-0132.

The paper describes a joint investigation between the Faculty of Communications from University of Havana and the Country Partnership Program "Supporting the implementation of the Cuban National Program for fighting against Desertification and Draught", supported by the Global Environment Fund. As a result, there is a characterization of the communicative practices that sustain water resources management in the rural settlement Güira de Melena, in the Cuban province of Artemisa; and a communicative strategy is proposed. The study was conducted from the Rural Participatory Evaluation, and it verified high public awareness on the matter, contrasting with limited communicative competences.

Keywords : Environmental communication; water resources; management; Cuba; OP 15 Program.
