The research delves into the analysis of the main problems that undermine the full development of children in the rural community nursery in the province Pinar del Río. A sociodemographic characterization of it is made and the main elements from socio-economically and culturally affect education and development of children in the territory are valued, focusing on the role of the family as the nucleus fundamental society. The main results of the study point to deficits in attention to child development during early childhood and preschool and school periods and lack of family counseling and prevalence of prejudices and stereotypes, mainly related to gender in the educational process at home; which impacts negatively on their physical, emotional and social maturation.
