ABSTRACT: The article approach the behavior of international tourism in Cuba in the last twenty years, under a scenario of confrontation and travel restrictions from the United States. It presents a synthesis of the antecedents from the first half of the twentieth century and the revolutionary period. It analyzes the group of measures for the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the United States. And what has been its recent impact on the scenario of the Cuban tourism sector, including the performance from the indicators of arrival of international visitors in recent years and the possible trends for accelerated growth
