ABSTRACT: The article addresses the implementation of a methodology that has allowed the use of community tourism in function of local development. The Popular Council of Sumidero was selected in the Municipality of Minas de Matahambre, to carry out this project. Among the objectives pursued are the contributions of social progress capabilities, insofar as it allows for the conscious integration of all local actors, an increase in economic development, improvements in the quality of life of community residents and the revitalization of cultural heritage traditional.
