This article analyzes the main gaps in the labor market in Cuba in the period 2002-2014, focusing on the analysis of the transformations that have taken place in this area as part of the process of updating the economic and social model. For this purpose different perspectives of analysis are used as they are the gender, the territories and generational groups, among others. The results obtained alert the existence of a change in the positive trend in the main indicators of employment and a deepening of the socio-spatial gaps in the country. This brief diagnosis justifies deepening the analysis, the review of policies and research on the labor sphere in the country in recent years, integrated with the other spheres and variables of social policy.
