The present article reflects about the insertion into employment with a focus on gender equity. The dichotomy between women and employment is analyzed from a conceptual theoretical perspective and it is discussed how it has manifested itself in Cuba after the triumph of the Revolution. It concludes by reflecting that despite the fact that policies to incorporate women into work have had a positive impact on women's access to the public world, the implementation of policies that are conducive to women and their incorporation into the world of work are necessary conditions, but not enough to achieve equity.
