Abstract

RODRIGUEZ PEREZ DE AGREDA, Gabriel  and  CABALE MIRANDA, Elizabeth. Special or Specific Criminalization of Violence against Women (Femicide) - Solution or Problem?. Estudios del Desarrollo Social [online]. 2018, vol.6, n.3, a02. ISSN 2308-0132.

This paper critically examines whether or not laws or types of criminal offenses specially or specifically criminalizing violence against women face it in an effective way. In the first section, the nature of this violence is analyzed from a gender perspective, and solutions to this problem are offered, taking a contra-hegemonic position. In the second section, the punitive power as a resource employed in our geographical area is judged, as well as its real effect on facing violence against women and social reality.
