This paper historically and critically analyses the various improvement processes of the Cuban education system, with emphasis on the latest one which began in 2014 and is aimed at bringing teaching-learning process up to date. This updating should take place not only at schools, but it also requires social engagement which is essential for training human beings demanded by society.
