Funding shortage and funds which are not made available to producers immediately are among the major problems for agriculture worldwide. In view of this, novel mechanisms not only for allocating financial resources to the agriculture sector, but also making these available to agricultural workers, and encouraging moneylenders to lend money have been created. Agriculture in Cuba is no exception, which is why such innovative mechanisms need to be taken into account. On the basis of how agriculture in Cuba is financed, and new financing mechanisms used around the world, this paper suggests some financing mechanisms most appropriate to the country.
