This article proposes an approach to the analysis of Cuban international solidarity. Some indicators are presented on its current connotation in the confrontation with COVID-19., and three references are taken into account that, without trying to cover all the determinants, favor a more accurate look at the nature of Cuban internationalism. The roots of identity formation are valued; the ethical / political character of the country's strategy; and the relevance of some of the transformations of the Cuban revolution. From this, a possible contribution to society after the epidemic is outlined.
