CARAM LEON, Tania. Cuban women in the early years of the Revolution. Estudios del Desarrollo Social [online]. 2021, vol.9, n.2, e23. Epub 01-Jul-2021. ISSN 2308-0132.
Cuban women have always been present in the struggles for national liberation and their rights. Since the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, in 1959, they have actively participated in the great transformations proposed by the new revolutionary government, although the studies in this regard are insufficient. The objective of this article is to take a tour of some of the most important moments of women’s participation in the 1960s and the work carried out by the Cuban Women’s Federation (FMC) in those years to promote the incorporation of women into the construction of the new society.
Palabras clave : Cuban Women’s Federation (FMC); Cuban women; the 60s; participation; gender.
