Mechanical engineering is recognised as an applied Physics, whose cognitive and procedural foundations constitute the essence of the functioning of any mechanism, that is why in the recent improvement of Higher Education, Study Plan E, this basic science is required to respond to the ways of acting of the professional as the study of simple machines, as a necessity of the Department of Mechanics in terms of students to recognise and describe from their first year of study, the basic composition of the mechanisms, useful content to receive the Applied Mechanics Discipline. The objective of rescuing simple machines in the same problem situations that are traditionally used in textbooks, with contextual and reasoning modifications resulting from the descriptive qualitative research carried out, identifying that Physics teachers do not approach the subject and propose a methodology for highlighting the role of simple machines: pulleys, levers, inclined plane, wedges, the screw and the wheel, which also facilitates their experimental assembly, with solutions that make thinking more complex and increase creativity and innovation, qualities inherent to all engineers. The results obtained, we are working on a compendium of problem situations that will allow Physics teachers to orientate themselves didactically on how to conduct the learning of Physics by rescuing simple machines.
