The teaching-educational scenario accentuated by the complex health situation of Covid-19, brought with it an increase in the implementation of online training processes in Cuba. In this context, self-preparation plays the decisive role in the training of the university student. Precisely, the objective of this research is to assess the effectiveness of a system of didactic tools for the self-preparation of technical science students for meeting classes in the improvement of online training. It is validated through a pre-experiment in one of the subjects of the Civil Engineering degree, taught both in the regular day course and in the meeting course. The academic performance and the results of the final evaluation in the 2021 academic year are taken as dependent variables and the previous year as the standard. The results obtained in the two variables evaluated, higher than those of the previous course, demonstrate the effectiveness of the system of didactic tools used, as an initial step in the improvement of the online training of engineers and architects for the meeting classes.
