It is based the importance of mathematical knowledge for the professional of the information, a brief description of the evolution of the curricula related to the mathematical knowledge is proposed, as well as the presence of this type of knowledge in the last Plan of Study E of the course, with the subject Mathematical methods applied to the studies of the information.
