The university education of the social communicator in Cuba is characterized by an integral education of the professional future, which includes the appropriation of the skills that must be developed in the performance of their work activity. One of the ways to achieve a good preparation of the professional for its successful performance is the inclusion in the curriculum of the careers of a main integrating discipline, which in the case of the Social Communication career is the Interdisciplinary Labor Practice. This discipline contributes to the interaction of the three substantive processes of higher education in Cuba: teaching, research and university extension.

This treaty includes (based on the results of a diagnostic study on the discipline that had been implemented in the Curriculum "D" of the career and the requirements for the preparation of a new Curriculum known as "E" ) the way in which with the discipline proposed in the new curriculum, the problems detected are rectified, responding to the current model of action.

The results to those above are built on a powerful theoretical support based on the analysis of the academic field of communication in Latin America.
