The paper examines the Communication and Development discipline program, included in the D and E Study Plans of Social Communication career in Cuba. In this regard, inconsistencies and omissions are seen in the organization and knowledge system of their basic subjects, which advise their reordering and updating. In that sense, proposals that point in the indicated direction are offered. The techniques that allowed us to arrive at such results were the bibliographic review and the documentary analysis.
