The movies for a long time, has played an important role within the cultural world of majorities, in the transformation of sensibilities and in the ways of perceiving the space and time, in order to construct imaginaries and identities. As a result, it has turned to be not only a social art but also an educational vehicle of learning and empowering. This has been proved by Camara Chica, a community audiovisual project spread over different provinces of Cuba since 2013. The main objective of the present work is, precisely, to evaluate the sociocultural and educational impact of this project. Based on scientific methods, the article points out the beginning and further development os this community initiative, its impact on the cognitive and socio affective domains of children participating in this experience, the professional growth of its coordinators, instructors and promoters as well as the spiritual life of the whole community.
