Introduction:

the Diabetes Mellitus constitutes a serious problem of health in Cuba and the world. One of their more frequent complications is the ulcer of the diabetic foot associated to neurological, vascular and infectious alterations. With the discovery of the Heberprot-P a new treatment is presented for the ulcer of the diabetic foot that extends and it strengthens in the System of Health.

Objective:

to describe the results of the use of the heberprot-P® in the ulcers of the diabetic foot.

Methods:

was carried out an observational, descriptive study, longitudinal in patients assisted in the educational policlinic “Captain Roberto Fleites”, in the period of January to December of the year 2019. 43 patients were studied keeping in mind the age, the sex, type of diabetes mellitus, the grade of affectation according to Wagner's classification, the dose and the number of applications and the evaluation of the answer to the treatment.

Results:

in the study the patients prevailed understood between the 61 and 80 years of age (65.12%), the masculine sex (55.81%) and the diabetes type 2 (55.81%); 74.42% of patients needed between 5 and 10 applications; a complete granulation was achieved in 83.72% of the cases; amputation was not required.

Conclusions:

the administration of the Heberprot-P in the ulcers of the diabetic foot is effective when achieving a high scaring and to avoid the amputations.
