La capacidad antagónica se determinó evaluando la competencia por espacio (diámetro de las colonias, según escala de Bell et al.) y el micoparasitismo (crecimiento de Trichoderma sobre las colonias de los patógenos) en cultivo dual. Todas las cepas se ubicaron en la clase 1 de la escala de Bell et al, dado a la alta velocidad de crecimiento de las cepas de Trichoderma. El parasitismo estuvo determinado por el grupo anastomósico colonizado; se destacaron, con más de 75 % de parasitismo, las cepas Ta.13 frente a AG-2.1, Ta.17, Ta.75, Ta.78 y Ta.90 frente a AG-5; y Ta.85 frente a AG-8. Desde el punto de vista práctico, estos resultados revisten gran importancia debido a que el complejo R. solani causa pérdidas económicas considerables en diversos cultivos de interés.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The objective of the work was to evaluate the antagonistic activity of seven strains of Trichoderma asperellum Samuels, Lieckfeldt &amp; Nirenberg against isolates from three anastomosis groups of Rhizoctonia solani Kühn in vitro. The antagonistic capacity was determined by evaluating the competition for space (diameter of the colonies, according to the scale by Bell et al.) and mycoparasitism (Trichoderma growth on the pathogen colonies) in dual culture. All the strains were located in class 1 of the scale by Bell et al., given by the highest growth rate of the Trichoderma strains. Parasitism was determined by the colonized anastomosis group, standing out the Trichoderma strains Ta.13 versus AG-2.1; Ta.17, Ta.75, Ta.78, and Ta.90 against AG-5; and Ta.85 against AG-8, wich overgrew more than 75% (parasitism) the area of the pathogen colonies. From the practical point of view, tthese results are of great importance because the R. solani complex is responsible for considerable economic losses in various crops of interest.]]></p></abstract>
