El objetivo fue analizar las tendencias sobre educación ambiental relacionada con el desarrollo del turismo en las comunidades indígenas en la provincia de Pastaza. Se realizó una investigación con método mixto secuencial en dos fases: cualitativa, para aproximarse a la realidad del sector, y cuantitativa, para medir y confirmar las relaciones entre los constructos y conocer la relación entre la educación ambiental y turismo comunitario. Para la recolección de los datos se utilizaron entrevistas y encuestas. En el análisis se patentizó que las tendencias teóricas sobre educación ambiental son: reflexión y acción en la educación ambiental, desde la investigación y la interacción social y estrategias didácticas. En cuanto a la búsqueda relacionada con las comunidades indígenas se evidenciaron como tendencias teóricas: saberes ancestrales, educación intercultural y experiencias en comunidades indígenas, que configuran una contribución a la educación ambiental en las instituciones educativas con presencia en comunidades indígenas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT This research was inserted in the doctor training project of the Amazon State University of Ecuador. The objective was to analyze the trends on environmental education related to the development of tourism in indigenous communities in the province of Pastaza. A sequential mixed method investigation was carried out in two phases: qualitative, to approximate the reality of the sector, and quantitative, to measure and confirm the relationships between the constructs and to know the relationship between environmental education and community tourism. Interviews and surveys were used for data collection. In the analysis it became clear that the theoretical trends on environmental education are: reflection and action in environmental education, from research and social interaction and didactic strategies. Regarding the search related to indigenous communities, theoretical trends were evidenced: ancestral knowledge, intercultural education and experiences in indigenous communities, which make up a contribution to environmental education in educational institutions with a presence in indigenous communities.]]></p></abstract>
