Por esta razón, los residuos sólidos (RRSS) deben ser tratados adecuadamente para mantener saludables a las personas y al medio ambiental. En el caso del Perú, este tipo de manejos se debe de realizar a nivel municipal. Sin embargo, la práctica ha demostrado que no siempre esto se cumple. Este artículo se propone determinar las estrategias municipales a seguir para lograr un manejo de los RRSS de manera adecuada. Es por ello que se convocó a un panel de expertos para determinar las mejores estrategias y se llegó a ese conocimiento después de aplicar la técnica Delphi Difusa, donde se seleccionan las estrategias mediante una serie de rondas dirigidas por un moderador. La componente difusa del método permite lidiar con la incertidumbre y la vaguedad que existe en este tipo de toma de decisiones complejas. Se determinó que la mejor estrategia es la de combinar la educación ambiental de la población, con la introducción de tecnologías de reciclaje y la importación/producción de elementos biodegradables.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Population growth and the diversification of industrialized products and changes in human consumption schemes have led to an increase in the formation of solid waste and it is projected that it will continue to increase. For this reason, solid waste (SW) must be adequately treated to keep people and the environment healthy. In the case of Peru, this type of management must be carried out at the municipal level. However, practice has shown that this is not always the case. This article intends to determine the municipal strategies to follow to achieve a proper management of the SW. That is why a panel of experts was convened to determine the best strategies to follow and this knowledge was reached after applying the Delphi Fuzzy technique, where strategies are selected through a series of rounds led by a moderator. The fuzzy component of the method makes it possible to deal with the uncertainty and vagueness that exist in this type of complex decision making. It was determined that the best strategy is to combine environmental education of the population, with the introduction of recycling technologies and the import/production of biodegradable elements.]]></p></abstract>
